You know, on eBay just now, you can buy a new 36v lead acid based electric bike for £350. They're from a supplier we've never heard of and even if they disappear there will always be another one popping up keen to sell you a bike from the container they've just imported from China.
Through the years, we've watched suppliers come and go and nowadays, one of the most frequent questions we get is "Can you supply me with X part for Y bike I bought from Z eBay supplier who's no longer registered and I can't get bits anywhere!"
At AlienOcean, we could buy cheap bikes as well and sell them just as cheap but I'm just not prepared to do that. It's taken us years to figure out what parts we need for our bikes and where to get them (and, more importantly sometimes, what parts and bikes we simply won't have at all).
We price the bikes and conversion kits to provide you with excellent choice but we also need to be able to support you in the future so we won't use just any old bits.

The Synergie Tornado is our entry-level bike but it's built just as well as all the other AlienOcean bikes and kits!
It's designed to be a highly effective local, around town, shopping bike. It uses a 36v lead-acid battery pack along with a 250 watt rear motor which, combined, means a highly affordable, electric bike - just not compromised on quality.
However, the Tornado has a whole lot of features common to a lot more expensive AlienOcean bikes including full twist throttle control, pedal assist, rear rack and even a front basket. If you are after a well-engineered but cost-effective electric bicycle then the Tornado has to be right at the top of your list!
